What is Appian development?
Appian development is the work of building applications on the Appian low-code platform. Instead of hand-coding every layer, developers assemble applications from Appian design objects: process models for workflow, SAIL interfaces for screens, records and Data Fabric for data, expression rules and decisions for business logic, and integrations for connecting other systems.
Low-code does not mean no engineering. Good Appian application development still depends on sound data design, reusable components, performance-aware queries, controlled deployments and disciplined testing — which is where most of the difference between Appian development teams lies.
